JUNE UPDATE

Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!
We are excited for another outstanding year of Monterey High School Athletics. Please review the information below to ensure you are prepared for summer activities and participation during the upcoming school year.
Communication
All athletic communication will be distributed through ParentSquare. We encourage students and parents to sign up for the OPTIONAL athletic information groups for sports of interest. This will help you stay informed regarding summer workouts, tryout information, schedule changes, and season updates.
Summer Workouts
Summer workouts are voluntary; however, we strongly encourage students who are in town to participate in these opportunities to develop skills, build team chemistry, and prepare for their upcoming season. Participation in the summer does not guarantee selection for teams.

Please note that schedules may change or workouts may be canceled due to facility availability, weather, or staffing. Any updates will be communicated by coaches through ParentSquare.

To be cleared for participation, student-athletes must:
- Complete the online athletic registration process.
- Upload a current athletic physical (valid for one calendar year).
- Provide proof of medical insurance coverage.
- Upload the insurance confirmation document to avoid delays in clearance.

Eligibility Reminder
Student-athletes must meet all academic and CIF eligibility requirements in order to participate. Eligibility will be reviewed prior to each season. June grades will reflect eligibility for FALL Sports.Transfer Student-Athletes (Grades 10-12): Any student transferring from another high school must complete CIF transfer eligibility paperwork before participating in interscholastic athletics. This process is handled through the Athletic Director's office and is separate from school enrollment or registration completed through the registrar. Forms will be accepted from CCS office July, 20th. This process can take up to 6 weeks. Please email Athletic Director before July 20th.
Fall Sports Tryouts and Practices
Information regarding tryout dates, practice schedules, and team meetings will be communicated directly by coaches.Please monitor your messages regularly as the start of the school year approaches. These will be posted on our
NEW website in July.
Outstanding Uniforms and Equipment
Any outstanding uniforms or equipment from previous seasons must be returned. Please contact your coach regarding the return process. Athletic obligations will remain on student accounts until the coach confirms all issued equipment has been returned.Athletic Office Summer Hours
