Attendance Awareness Month to be recognized by MPUSD trustees in September

Attendance Awareness Month
Research shows students who are chronically absent (missing two days a month or 18 days during a single school year) are less likely to read proficiently by third grade and are less likely to graduate from high school.

MPUSD is committed to helping our families with strategies to help students get to school, regardless of their resources at home. We also offer Saturday Academy, allowing students to make up for lost time during a traditional school day.

During Tuesday's meeting, trustees approved a resolution also recognizing September as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Here's access to the agenda and all previous resolutions.
