Monterey High School is a candidate school* for the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy--a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Monterey High School believes is important for our students.

Staff Training:
MHS teachers attend required workshops in both the Middle Years Program and the Diploma Program before teaching the course(s). Teachers receive training in the following areas: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Visual Arts, Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, CAS, and Heads of School. This is an exciting time for the MHS learning community as we make the full transition to the IB Programs in these next two school years.
