Monterey High School is a candidate school* for the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy--a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Monterey High School believes is important for our students. 


*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the Career-related Programme (CP). MHS Staff Training:
Many MHS teachers met this summer in Tahoe for training in both the Middle Years Program and the Diploma Program. Teachers received training in the following areas: Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies, Math, Extended Essay, Head of Schools and Language Acquisition.This is an exciting time for the MHS learning community as we make the transition to the Middle Years Program in the 2018-2019 school year.
