Drug Awareness Prevention Assembly and Panel

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is working with community partners to give students and parents access to helpful, potentially life-saving information about the risks of substance use for pre-teens, teens, and young adults.

During a schoolwide live stream assembly on September 11, 2024, at Monterey High School, students at every grade level were given the opportunity to hear from a panel of community members, teacher, and students about their experience related to drugs and alcohol. The panel fielded questions from students at Monterey High School and across the district from other high school students (the presentation was live streamed into participating classrooms at Central Coast High School, Marina High School, and Seaside High School).

All high school and middle school students either have received or will receive information on substance use prevention this school year.
