Each year on August 31, communities across the globe observe International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD)—a day dedicated to raising awareness about overdose, reducing the stigma surrounding drug-related deaths, and honoring the memories of those we have lost.

Each school year, we work with our district staff and educators to develop a collective theme.

No school on Monday, September 1, 2025. Students return to school Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Selected Saturdays from 8 AM - 12:15 PM
Make up attendance, avoid truancy, make up lost instruction time.

Beginning Monday, June 9th, MHS summer office hours are from 8 AM - 3 PM.

The Board of Education adopted a resolution recognizing September 15 - October 15, 2024, as National Hispanic Heritage Month in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District.
